İki uçlu bozukluk ve intihar davranışı

İki uçlu bozukluğu olan kişilerdeki intihar riski önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunudur. Mevcut literatür, iki uçlu bozukluklu hastalarda intihar girişimi ve tamamlanmış intihar girişimi riskinin, unipolar majör depresyonlu hastalardan daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Majör duygudurum bozukluklarına ait farklı klinik görümlü (unipolar majör depresyon, iki uçlu I ve iki uçlu II) hastalar arasında, genel olarak iki uçlu hastalarda ve özellikle iki uçlu II olguları en yüksek intihar riski taşımaktadırlar. Bu yazının amacı iki uçlu bozukluğun farklı formları ile intihar davranışı arasındaki ilişkiyi analiz etmektir.

Bipolar disorder and suicidal behaviour

Suicide risk in people with bipolar disorder is an important public health concern. The present literature shows that, patients with bipolar disorders are at higher risk of attempted and completed suicide than that of patients with unipolar majör depression. Among patients with different clinical manifestations of major mood disorders (unipolar major depression, bipolar I and bipolar II disorder), bipolar patients in general, and bipolar II subjects in particular carry the highest risk of suicide. The aim of this paper is to analyse the relationship between different forms of bipolar disorder and suicidal behaviour.
