Gastric lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) following cardiac transplantation: A case report
An increased incidence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is seen in post-trans-plantation patients, as a consequence of immunosuppression. Mucosa-asso-ciated lymphoid tissue lymphoma ( is usually less aggressive than other post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders and considered a different form. Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma is a well-known Helicobacter pylori-related tumor of B-cell origin and has been documented in rare case series in solid organ recipients. We describe the case of a 67-year-old man who developed low-grade B-cell gastric lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue MALT, 12 years after receiving cardiac transplantation.
